Free Punta Cana, Dominican :: Now Larimar Destination Weddings
What are the advantages and disadvantages of a destination wedding? A destination wedding has both pros and cons.
My first destination wedding in about 10 years after taking a break from travelling was for Olivera & Sebastian married at the Now Larimar in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. You can view their wedding HERE! I didn’t realize how much I missed destination weddings until I got there and started to scout the area and the resort in anticipation of the wedding day. The resort was fairly new with beautiful fountains and gardens. I stayed 5 days at the All Inclusive Resort with the wedding party and took advantage of all the fun activities and got to know the family and friends attending the wedding. I’ll never forget the trash the dress session with all 5 girls in the wedding including the bride the morning after in the pool and the ocean and the fountains. You can view this Trash The Dress Session HERE! Taking a professional photographer with you is one of the best decisions you will make to capture all the memories from your destination wedding. Almost all resorts will have on site photographers to capture your day, BUT they won’t have the experience, education, creativity or equipment to capture your wedding like a professional wedding photographer whose style and character you have personally chosen to spend the most important day of your life with you. I have a special relationship with all my brides and am able to capture not just the wedding day, but a complete album of images from location photos to candid photos of you and your friends and family on fun excursions, romantic dinner photos and of course the wedding day.
An exotic location where you have always dreamed of being barefoot on a beach with romance in the air and your best friend by your side.
Special deals are available at many resorts if an extended stay for the honeymoon is included. Resorts in popular destinations offer all-inclusive wedding packages for every budget.
Guest List ::
Destination weddings allows for a more intimate celebration. Typically destination weddings include immediate family only and best of friends. A destination wedding allows you to spend your money and time on the people in your life that matter the most.
Less Stress ::
The on-site coordinator takes on most of the stress so that you are left with enjoying your time with family and friends. She’ll be taking care of most of the vendors for you while you relax. You have taken special care to choose everyone over emails and phone calls and have coordinated everyone to arrive for the wedding day while you are still at home.
It’s a wedding and honeymoon all rolled into one, so once you’ve parted with your family and friends it’s time to really relax with your husband and enjoy your time together because you are already here.
Many people will find it too difficult to find the time or money to get away for your wedding day. Also, consider the ones who are not able to travel such as the elderly or disabled .
Planning a destination wedding means you will have to rely on vendors without meeting them personally. A wedding planner/resort coordinators expertise will be what you need to rely on and that can be difficult for the detail oriented bride.
You will need to get all your paperwork in order. Find out the laws and regulations for marriages abroad. Each country has it’s own laws. Make sure that your wedding abroad will be legally recognized in your home country. You’ll also need to have the correct travel documents, such as birth certificates, passports, and other notarized documents.
