Nicole and Jonathan’s wedding at the Doctor’s House in Kleinburg was planned for a fall day in October. The weather is usually still favourable at this time of year and today was no exception, although clouds were looming it only rained on our way to St. Padre Pio Church then it was a beautiful sunny day with gorgeous clouds in the sky.
The day began at Nicole’s parents home for her bridal preparations with her parents and bridesmaids then it was off to the church for her Roman Catholic Ceremony. We then headed to the reception at the Doctors House and walked along main street in Kleinburg for all their wedding photography with the bridal party and their portraits. We headed back to the Doctors House to gather her immediate family for some gorgeous family photographs on the stairs in front of the venue.
The evening was kicked off by a great entrance with the wedding party and the couples first dance.

Congratulations Nicole and Jonathan and thank you for allowing me to capture all the memories of your day.
Bridal makeup by “Let me paint you” was soft and natural
the groom and groomsmen were photographed by my second shooter David Proc, while I was with the bride
I chose this room to feature the bridal gown because of the large bay window, beautiful window light and the purple curtains made it very regal.
The tender moment between a bride and her niece the flower girl……the expression on her face is priceless.
capturing the moments as they happen without posing or directing the bridal party but putting them in the most gorgeous window light
a sweet moment with her father as she places his boutonniere
sometimes the sweetest portraits are the most simple
stunning portraits of the bride alone are crucial to wedding day photography
dappled light is not an ideal situation for photography of bride and grooms, but sometimes the location warrants that you try anyways and this time it worked
putting my clients in full late day sun is my favourite way to use the light at this time of day. making sure that my couple is between me and the sun…. I can capture portraits with beautiful backlight.
photographing the bridal party in a journalistic style is as easy as having them walk towards you
I always try to shoot through things for the most interesting way to frame my couples.
a sweet moment in beautiful backlight using sepia for a variety of images.
bride and groom entrance with all their guests standing and then going right into their first dance
you never know what is going to happen so always be prepared for the moment like these
and these…. great journalistic captures with the guests in the background
bride and groom first dance…..i love the way she is looking at him here.
bride and groom first dance…… I love the way he is looking at her here.
it’s all about capturing the moments that my clients are having…… here the brides father whispered some funny to his daughter.
as a journalistic photographer I’m always waiting for the spontaneous reactions to happen, but it’s extremely important to also get the traditional, standard or “safe” shot first then wait for it because it will happen and you need to be ready.
the absolute best way to photograph speeches for me is to shoot through the lights, glasses or bottles to mask table clutter and to isolate your bride and groom giving their thank you speeches.
one of the best time for guest captures is during the speeches
receptions are the best time to grab fun energetic images of all your guests
beautiful candle lit tables photographed with natural light coming in from the wall of windows in this gorgeous main floor reception room at the Doctors House in Kleinburg, Ontario
