Ok….so we are near Grand Valley on a private property for this journalistic style engagement photography session and it was suppose to be -21 degrees with the wind chill.  I always worry about these snowy style photo sessions, because I could lose them fast if they were too cold or wet or uncomfortable.  I mean you want to look good and be warm at the same time, but that’s a little difficult in this kind of weather.  But, these two were a real outdoors couple and the way she planned this session I knew we were going to get exactly what she had envisioned.  Fun in the snow, long lazy walks in the woods and epic scenery by the river all captured for this amazing couple and we even managed to get some great golden hour photographs.

Winter Engagement Photos in the woods

Here is where we started. They asked me to meet them at this bridge for some photos and then a walk in the bush. Now, I’m up for anything and was looking forward to this adventure with them.

Dad had previously roughed out a trail for the upcoming maple sugar season and it was the perfect spot for a walk in the woods.

I asked them to walk into the woods a little deeper and these guys did not hesitate.

Alisha was a ball of energy and all smiles and Jonathan was a quiet, loving man who was very attentive.

There is no posing required during my sessions. All you have to do is have fun and be together and I will photograph it.

Alisha brought out 2 fur coats for the end of the session by the river and I was so happy. I know that just this little change with dramatically change the outcome of the photos.

Look at how stunning these 2 are and so great together. Jonathan was kind and patient and so great with Alisha.

The sun was just starting to go down and we were able to grab the last few minutes of light by the river.

Thank you so much for inviting me along to capture these memories.
